Text Box: Contact David: (415) 290-4044 Text Box: Dear Neighbor, If you believe in creating a safe and sustainable San Mateo now and for future generations, I ask for your support this November 2009 in my run for San Mateo City Council. Safety is a hallmark of my work in public service. For five years I have served San Mateo as a Commissioner on the Community Relations Commission protecting the most vulnerable members of our community: Children, elders, and the homeless. In five years on the San Mateo Neighborhood Watch Board of Directors, I worked with the police to keep our streets safe. And for the last ten years as a Deputy District Attorney for the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office as a criminal prosecutor, I have served California as a law enforcement officer representing victims of violent and serious crimes such as child sexual assault, domestic violence, armed robbery, elder abuse, and real estate fraud. Sustainability through environmental protection, economic growth, and responsible, measured development in our communities are issues vital to vibrant, healthy communities. As a public school teacher and adjunct professor at the UCLA School of Education in Post-Rodney King Los Angeles, I oversaw development of curriculum and education models that sought to transform and sustain a new model of learning in inner-city schools that provided opportunities and meaningful social justice for all students. As a member of the Alameda County District Attorney’s Consumer and Environmental Protection Unit, I have worked to help protect consumers and businesses from unfair practices and criminal fraud. Finally, as a father of two young daughters, I share the dream of all parents of passing on a San Mateo that is as safe, rich, and vibrant as the one we live in today. If you believe in the need for a SAFE and SUSTAINABLE San Mateo now, and for the future, I hope you will join my bid for San Mateo City Council in 2009.
